It's a great mod and I have to do it again since my dash harness was replaced.

So often in traffic it's not possible to stop completely but you're basically crawling.

Exactly what I was thinking.

As far as the tornados in Wisconsin, that was unfortunate. They couldn't really enjoy the beautiful weather like we did. It still isn't too bad. We are probably still in the high 49s to low 50s right now. Loving it while it lasts. Global warming for the FTMFW!!!

There was a link but, I don't want to go looking again. I did mine last night. Took about 5 minutes. One screw in the middle top, and two push pins on the sides. Pulled straight toward yourself and not down. Very easy, I didn't even have to put any force into it. Gl.

[QUOTE=tcho82,Jan 9 2008, 02:37 PM] Sorry, but I didn't ask for your opinion.

Bingo. There are countless times when I am in traffic on the freeway onramp, waiting for the metering lights to let us on and I feel like dropping the top. Since you end up at a steady 3-5 mph while crawling towards the metering light, there really isn't an opportunity to pull the e-brake and sit in one place for 8 seconds (without getting honked at, or cut in front of).

Those of you that live in big cities will understand.

I cannot agree more. I run into that situation quite often.

Another situation is when you are in the middle of HEAVY traffic jam trying to get your way into the tunnel, and when all the cab drivers are honking like there is no tomorrow.

This mod is totally needed ...

Cutting wires? Give me a break! Pull the e-brake up ONE click and it will do the same thing as fully engaging it, all it will do is put a light on your dash. You can do it at 50mph if you want to at that point, the brake hasn't even started to engage with one click.

It doesn't need to engage, the sensor simply needs to touch another sensor.

The wire we are all cutting is the speed sensor wire. NOT the ebrake wire. The car knows it is moving if you do not cut/disable this wire. We all still need to pull the ebrake u one click.

You can go try this out if you like. Unless you bought a used car that had this already done to it....

That was exactly what I needed to know. It was SOOOO much easier than taking it off the AP1.

No clips broken, wire cut, and taped up successfully. MOD completed just fine with no glitches.

Can't beat free!

Or in places where scattered showers are frequent.

I found the link for anyone interested.

Use google instead of the search feature by entering "site:s2ki.com convertible top while moving" without the "" and you will find it.

SC Highlander's top down while moving mod.

I believe derived from Modifry's site.
