Default Removing rubber strip on windshield cowl

Are people doing this? Seems like an easy mod to let a lot of heat out of the engine bay. Any negatives to doing this?

It actually holds the cowl cover in place. You may have to use other means to hold it in place because the clips used may not hold properly without the rubber in place. Tie wraps would probably work.

The other thing I can think of is that that warm air may go right into your ac intake.

The base of the windshield is a high-pressure area - air is probably going into the engine bay there, not out, so I don't see any point in removing anything there.
