If you're going to replace your stock battery, you might as well get one that reduces weight. I know that Spoon makes one and there are other brands too. If you do a search on "battery" I think you'll find a few threads with that subject.

Some people don't change batteries for weight reduction... I upgraded to larger (heavier) audio-suitable battery...

prolene uses a cool little battery that saved something like 15 pounds, you may want to talk to him about it (i think it's optima batteries)
