Does honda or anyone sell a replacement for the MY00-01 softtop rear window? I know most convertibles w/ plastic windows have the ability to zip it off and replace it with a new one...

if this is the case... where can I get one?

yeah... I was thinking about getting a MY02 roof... but was wondering if it would be cheaper to just replace the plastic... I guess thats not even an option... thanks

 

I think you can find the 02 roof for $850ish from Hardtopguy. The install can be done in a day with hand tools and a rivet gun...IF you can follow directions.

 

If you have that white haze that develops Mcquires 3 step clear plastic cleaner works wonders. I think it's close to $20 for all three products but it seems to take off about anything and remove some scratches too. Now my only problem is the wrinkle.. Anyone know how to eliminate wrinkles that are already there?? I have greg's straps but those only stop new problems..

 

It was about three years ago that I had my S broken into where someone had cut the plastic rear window. I claimed it through insurance and had got an estimate to change just the plastic, not the entire roof. So it can definitely be done. You do not have to replace the entire soft top to replace the back window.

Now, whether the glass rear window from an '02 could 'replace' the plastic section, I don't know. Im not sure whether you have to buy the entire soft top from an '02 to make the glass fit properly.

Either way, you would have to practically take apart a good part of the interior to replace that plastic.

Am I making any sense?

 

Folex187 You can take the wrinkle out by pouring boiling water over the rear window. You will notice it start to curl then a few minutes later the wrinkles will be significantly reduced. I tried this on my 00, it did not get rid of them completely, but it really helped. Do a search, there was a thread on it somewhere. Hope it works for you.
