velcro patch inside of ragtop near plastic window
I bought my s2000 used, so I don't know if anything is missing or that is just the way it came. I just noticed that there are two velcro patches on the inside of the ragtop, to the left and right of the plastic window. Seems like the velcro should be holding some strip on it, but there is nothing there. Am I missing a piece and if so, where can I get it and what is it for? The top seems to operate just fine without it?

I have wondered the same thing. My '01 was delivered new with nothing attached to that velcro. It can be put to good use on '00 and'01 models, however. A while back there was a product going around this board called "Gregg Straps." These were elastic straps with velcro attachments on the ends that hooked to the velcro patches on the sides of the rear window. The purpose of these straps is to cause the plastic rear window to fold with just one horizontal crease down the middle, and not "wad up" as these things tend to do. I don't know if Gregg Straps are still available or not. I have them, and found that they do some good at the intended purpose, though they are not a perfect solution to "window wadding." Still, I find them worth the $15 I paid for them.
