How hard is it to replace the rear window? I probably
can get a new rear window from my dealer due to the TSB.
I would like to change it out myself. Is this doable?

From what I understand the TSB pertaining to the rear window has nothing to do with replacement, only proper care. Some windows have been replaced under "good will" gestures by the dealers.

It's somewhat involved. You have to remove the seats, interior storage module etc. There are a bunch of rivets to drill out the there is the re-riving the new one in. It's not just a zip in. Let the dealer do it. As noted it's a dealer "good will" item. You might consider paying labor if they'll kick in the window. If you chose to do it yourself see if they'll give you a copy of the service manual pages involved (Ref: 2001 Service Manual Pages 20-42 thru 20-45).

I say go for it. We're all going to be doing it after warranty expiration. Your pioneer effort will then be appreciated. I'll even kick in $20 if you mess it up.

honda_s2k,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Ivs2k was correct. Under the heading 'Warranty claim information' on BOTH 037 and 048 are the words "None. This bulletin is for information only." TSB 00-048 is merely an update to the procedure outlined in the service manual, not a call for action.

I have GOT to scan these things in and post them for everyone...

Sounds like a complete top replacement. What
a pain. Looks like the Honda engineers definitely
did not sweat the details when it came to the
convertible top on the S2K.

Yes, please post the TSBs ASAP.
