Plastic rear window soon to be replaced
I have on order, a new plastic rear window for my S. I asked the service manager how long this would take and they quoted 2 days. I thought that this was a looong process. Anybody else think this is
Balistic, I just replaced mine last month. Here is a thread I wrote about the replacement.

It's not technically difficult, but if you follow the Helms manual it's a long process. I wouldn't even think about trying it without the service manual. Good luck!

talk to hardtopguy and he'll give you all the info will pretty decent prices. no you don't have to order it through the dealer. If you can find a glass top on ebay or something you can save $$$

If you do replace the plastic with glass, remember that you'll also have to modify your top frame. I personally like the bigger plastic window and as long as you use meguires and plexus on it periodically, it will stay clear.

true, but it only costs about $10-$20 to modify your frame so it's not that big of a deal. I go for quality over quantity so I prefer the glass, but it's all a matter of preference. If you do a search I wrote up a glass vs. plastic comparision back when I switched and you can see the downfalls of each.
