So im wanting to replace my soft top in my 2001 jdm s2000 but the problem im having is my current top has a glass rear window where as a 01 model should be plastic.
So I need to know if my car has had a 02 frame and softtop swapped on or if it has been replaced previously with one of those plastic to glass conversions.

What are the differences between the 99-01 and 02+ frame that I could look for to see what mine is? As the place that I will be ordering from said that a 01 model wont fit my s2000 if I have a 02 roof frame.

02 and on have glass window and different frame. you can do a conversion but it sounds like its been done already. robbins glass tops will fit 01 frame as long as you have or do the conversion. the conversion is just elastic straps in two locations. hope this helps you out.
