Yeah you share my sentiments ........ I will compare the manual of the 2002 model and see if we can install the springs independently. Don't think we can replace the glass alone though as the dimension is much smaller than the present plastic rear.

OneQuickS2k: any comments?

Minigotr: Like ulysses said, the dimension on the platsic window and the glass window is totally different per Helms manual. However, The frame structures are very similar that's why the '02 glass window soft top can be swapped with minor modifications. I don't think you can just put on a '02 window on a '00 top, not without major modifications.

I don't know if you can just buy the springs alone by itself
from the dealer and install it in the frame. It doesn't look too easy
to me in Helms Manual and besides the manual does not say
anything about the springs so I decided to put elastic strips..

I think it's just easier to swap the '02 soft top with glass window. Although, it's the easiest to just swap the '02 top and '02 frame but the cost of doing this will probably be about the same as buying a OEM hard top.

I still haven't got a chance to wire up my defroster yet and also
the installation pictures!! I know, I've been lagging. Does anyone
have a reliable web hosting server so I can email the pictures and they can upload them for me? I couldn't get yahoo photos to work very well...

HI OneQuickS2k. according to the helms:

Would component 6 and 9 be the springs that you have mentioned .... if it is, then I would be able to purchase them at US$30 for a pair. Let me know yeah.

Any update on this?? This seems like something that many of us would potentially be interested in doing. OneQuickS2k, can you explain in a little more detail what was involved in switching the tops, like what do you have to remove to be able to take the top completely off. Would you say this is a job that the average person could under take. Any specific tools necessary? I'm just looking for more details. Thanks!!

I am getting the pics done as we speak, AEW. I know I've been lagging but I've been busy.

honda9krpm, I will scan the pics of the Helms manual and
post them up here as well. If you need a hard copy, PM me
and I'll make copies of them and send them to you.

Hope this helps.

Let me know if you still need hosting for the pictures... I may be able to host them (depending on how many there are / how large they are). Either way I'll help you figure something out.
