Rev Limiter
A few days ago I was shifting from first into second and it didn't engage properly consequently I bounced off the rev limiter 4 or 5 times before I corrected the shift
. I am hoping that the rev limiter did its job but I am now parinoid that something could be wrong. It seems to idel quietly and accelerate fine so far but I was wondering what I should be looking for and if something could pop up and give me trouble down the road.
The same problem happened yesterday, I was accelerating onto the highway went from first to second and it reved up (only 8500 RPM) but didn't go
, I had to take it back out of second and reengage it and then it went ok? strange
I know that if you miss shift (third to second) the limiter doesn't help but I hope it will in this case.

You're fine Mike. Rev limiter is designed for the very thing you did... If you shift from 1-2 or 2-3 or 3-4, etc. and hit the upper end of the RPMs, the limiter is designed to electronically cut fuel supply in/out to keep engine from over-revving. And your "I know that if you miss shift 3-2..." is correct as well -- the rev limiter has no bearing on over-revving the engine via driveshaft components "pushing" the engine thru the tranny at higher RPMs than designed for.
Rest easy.
Replied to your other post as well on same topic...for what its worth, only now noticing your point about what happened yesterday. What you are describing there sounds like you might have briefly over-cooked your clutch somewhat and it wouldn't engage. Time it took to take it out of gear & pop it back in at a lower RPM probably allowed for the clutch to grab that time. I've smoked my clutch accidentally a few times now. Usually, your nose...knows...you've done it -- but if you were heading onto the interstate, its not as likely you could have smelled the results (vs. being in stop & go traffic). Anyway, clutch ain't an issue either...just try not to make a habit of it.

Hit my limiter at least 5 times yesterday. The car was faster staying in first the whole way through the short course and shifting to second cost to much time. Car seems fine. After all as long as the limiter kicks in I don't think it will hurt anything. If it does not kick in at 9k+ that is when you need to be concerned.
