Swell65, there apparently is some variance between what the tach reads and what the engine is actually reving. I believe the tach reads a little high.

Thanks! Does using one void the warranty or anything? It sounds like that might make it easier to blow the engine? Although, I guess that unless you mis-shifted, which would damage the engine under certain circumstances anyway, you're not going to make it overrev. Am I understanding that right? Does anyone even understand what i'm saying? Whatever. Thanks for your help!!

the tach in this car's pretty slow, if I was keeping it I'd definetley install a shift light and rpm module...

Just to clarify...I wasn't complaining about it cutting out at 9000...I was just surprised because I thought it was everyone's understanding that it was 9200 and it's not... I just wanted to point it out. But yes the tach is wayyyyyyyy off...It hit's 9000 and then the tach flashes red for like 1 second and then it hits the limiter...you would think I was at like 9500 or something... Guess it's just off by that much...I don't shift using the tach on the dash anymore...I just use the one on the VAFC.

Honda tachs are notorious for being a little off. It was the same way in my CRX.
