Yea, I usually were my Pumas to and from work. But I always get yelled at for pumping gas in Utilities with bright red Ferrari Pumas on.

Watch some videos, it'll be difficult to describe adequately.

It's all about ASICS

OP: Just watch videos-- it's much easier. You'll get the hang of it with practice.

i get the processes but i cant seem to get it to the right rpm all the time.

the car sometimes drops rpm quickly because i blip too much, or revs up if i do too lil.
is this bad for the car??

and also when i blip, do i need to give it gas like regular shifting, or can i just blip and let go of clutch without any gas??
if you do a regular downshift from 6 to 5-5 to 4-4 to 3 you will see the needed rpm you need be at to do it right based on mph and gear. also its not so much seeing the rpms but feeling the right rpms and the car will let you know if you did it right when you let go of the clutch (smooth vs. jerky from the rev-match). you can shift from 6 to 4 or even 6 to 3 when your proficient at rev-matching but do the countdown technique first.

when they describe "blip" in rev-matching that means gassing the throttle. so, clutch in - blip - downshift - clutch out.

there's should plenty of videos on youtube that can show you visually.

You blip the throttle and as your right foot is coming off of the gas pedal, start letting the clutch out. You have to make sure not to let the clutch out faster than your right foot coming off of the gas pedal.

You don't have to get the RPMs exactly on the dot to have a smooth transition. As long as you're letting the clutch out slowly and your RPMs are near where they should be, you're good.

Btw, when I say slowly, I mean SLOWER than your right foot coming off of the gas pedal.

^ kinda, i would say that you should blip then quickly (before rmps drop) let the clutch to where it is partially engaged so that the revs won't free fall, then feather it the rest of the way.

i would say more than anything just do it every day when you drive and find the quickest and smoothest way that works for you.

It's pretty fast but you should release the clutch slower than the speed at which you blipped the throttle.

Now that I think about it, I start releasing the clutch as soon as my right foot starts coming off of the gas pedal. Since this is kind of hard to explain, why don't you try doing it and report back with your results. It'll be a lot easier to critique what you're doing vs. explaining it from the get go. Just remember, if the car kind of shoots forward when you're letting the clutch out, you're revving too high and letting the clutch out too fast. If the car nose dives, you're not revving high enough and you're letting the clutch out too fast. Also keep in mind that it's better to "under rev" then "over rev" because the transition in gears can still be smooth.
