Yeah, you basically hit the nail on the head greed. Just like every other part for the s2000. You would swear that there wasn't a shitload of s2000's out there. And that people didn't modify them. Why would this forum exist if that was true.

The price is proportional to the fun it brings

How much is a new OEM 4.10 final drive gearset?

Oem prices on everything is ridiculous. Hence the reason why people want to upgrade performance through the aftermarket. Aftermarket is almost always inferior to Oem in reliabilty.

The gearing for a Ford 9" rear end, or a GM 10-bolt in various gear ratios have already been engineered and the engineering costs have been recouped.

There are NOWHERE near the number of S2000s with richmond gears as there are Fords and Chevys.

The S2000 gear is a niche, you pay niche pricing.

If they really wanted to be greedy, wouldn't they jack up the prices of the high volume gear sets?

Yeah because the bush family has oil interests since prescott bush did deals with the saudis many years ago. The same prescott bush that was found guilty of treason against this country. Member of skull and bones. Just like George W. and Kerry.

FYI, the our cost on these is far higher then 200. We also have to pay for the tooling cost. And the engineering costs too.

We also have to pay for all of them up front. Try to figure out what that works out to, then ask your self it you could fund it?

Also, is making a profit considered greedy?

Oh, on a side note: Have you seen what J's racing charges for their?
