All metals change color when heated. Stainless Steel is no exception. FFSkip is refering to cleaning the oils off of the header from your hands to make the change more uniformed.

I'm very happy to read these early reviews. Stratocaster worked very hard to ensure we had a header that provided high quality and performance at a good value, and since this was our first venture into having a performance part custom made for us, we were a bit anxious, especially since we were dealing with a manufacturer overseas.

Kudos to Jeff!

Got my header today finally. It arrived on Saturday but I wasn't home to sign for it, and FedEx Ground Home Delivery doesn't work on Monday ...

I haven't installed it yet, will probably be some time before I do it because I'm so busy.

First impressions though ... I was very impressed with the way everything was packaged.

I have a bunch of pictures I took of the way they came packaged, and the header and the inside piping ... Overall they look very sweet.

I purchased a set of headers for my TL from a small company and they came in a beat up cardboard box with no packaging, just some peanuts and the headers were thrown in the box.

You can check the pics I took of the header out here: http://www.ryanshomepage.com/gallery..._plus_6_header

Installed

My notes:

There is no need to remove the cat, just the front two that pass through the header.

I was going to do a little port matching on the new header. As I laid the stock gasket on the flange to check it, I saw it wasn't needed. This thing is very well made, and finished by hand to ensure optimal port flow. If you lay the stock gasket on the header you'll see what I mean. At no point does the header flange block flow from the head. Very nice.

I have a Fujitsubo exhaust, and the tone definitely changed with the header install. The note is louder with less throttle effort than before.

There is definitely extra punch at 6k when you nail it in v-tec.

I'm very happy overall
