Default Rick's Leather Console Cover

Hey, I just got mine yesterday and read through the instructions. It doesn't seem that hard to put it in, I was wondering if anyone out there has any advice as far as installation goes. Can you make any recommendations for me when I'm going to install? Also, does the adhesive hold up well?? I can't wait to get it in, it's going to look awesome!!!

The installation instructions are excellent and the install is very easy - take your time though. I have had mine on for about 1 month. The adhesive holds up ok but I read another post about using the existing clips to mount along with the adhesive. I am currently going this route. Had to order black clips. I have red interior and got a red w/black sides cover. Don't want to put red clips on the black. I also installed a leather shift boot as well. Good Luck! And yes, it makes a huge difference.

Mine's been on for over a year, and the tape is holding up fine. It continues to look great.

A couple suggestions:

1. If you're also thinking about putting in one of Rick's shift boots, it's easier to do it at the same time you install the console cover. (Hint: Rick's shift boot is a BIG improvement.)

2. Take your time getting the fit right around the plastic plate at the front and making sure the seams line up with the edges all along the console. If you're a bit off with the fit, you'll wind up re-doing it anyway so get it right the first time.

Overall, it's an easy installation. Enjoy!

If you need help, just let some of us Chicago-area people know. It's a quick easy install, I've done it a couple of times now.

Best advise is to follow Rick's directions exactly. Take your time. The directions are very good and easy to follow, just do not get in a hurry. Then just enjoy !!!

The best advice I can give is to make sure you pay attention to the part where Rick says to make sure your carpet is clean. If you don't clean it real well, the tape does not stick well. My console cover looks great, but I guess I didn't clean the carpet very well along the sides of the console, so the tape keeps letting go. I'm going to unplug the stock carpet plug and put them through Ricks console cover to make it stay.

Hey Rick, Can the tape be replaced on the console cover?

Otherwise, I love the cover. It really does add that finishing touch. can't wait for my shift knob. It should be here anyday now.

Thanks for all the replies. Is anyone else having trouble with their adhesive coming loose? That was the one concern that I had. Anyone using a different type of adhesive to make sure it stays put?

The only thing I found to be the slightest bit difficult was detaching/reattaching the connections for the top switch and emergency blinker switch. Patience and persistence pays off.
