i noticed that 2002 allready comes with a leather center cover.
I was just wondering if you could still replace it with a two
tone one from Rick, or would it be better to get the leather
changed?

The 2002 is vinyl not leather. Same material as the shift boot on my 2001 which I replaced with Rick's leather shift boot at the same time I installed the leather console. As well, your not going to get any custom color, stiching or embroidery options with the stock vinyl either. Completes the console area with all leather - love the smell of new leather. Nice!!!

I didn't like the idea of using adhesive tape on the carpet for two reasons; longevity, and damage to the carpet.

I've developed my own console cover that uses a stiff plastic backing, foam, and leather cover. It attaches using 4 of the existing plug holes. The plugs are hidden under the leather so aren't seen.

If you have any worries I did this little project today after work. It may put your mind at ease regarding the strength of the tape.

WhiteRocket,

I see that the side of your console cover has wrinkles in it too. I've seen that on another one and wondered what happened. Is that an install prob or did it come that way?

You will not get this problem with mine.

Another thing I noticed is that this one ends at the side of the seat.

Mine extends around behind the seat.

Respectfully Aus,

Your advertising is in dubious taste in this thread.

I'm sorry if you think so. This is a thread started by a third party and discussing install and finish. These are exactly the issues that prompted me to produce this product.

Also, please note that I haven't posted a link to the ordering system or mentioned a price so I'm not sure how it constitutes advertising. If anybody wants the above, please do a search for 'Aus Console Cover'.

Perhaps a better post would have addressed your customers issues with installation and finish. If you had addressed these issues earlier I would be a customer rather than a competitor.

How does yours compare price-wise (USD)?
When will LHD be available?

At the current introductory price and including shipping the cost is $142.57

This really is a matter of making sure we get it right the first time. I guess you can assume that the handbrake on the LHD is just on the other side, but better safe than sorry. We are sending a console cover to the US with the centre area uncut and getting the template returned before finalising the pattern. I expect a delay of another two weeks before we can begin production of LHD console covers.
