Anyway, the last time I removed the AP2 center console for some reason I couldn't do it unless I removed the radio door. Whatever.

open radio door and pull. there are 6 tabs behind it if im not mistaken
lift up on the center console disconnect the flashers and roof switch
switch the boot out and do the opposite

I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, but I have an AP2 center console in my AP1 that I did the conversion on. Thats the only reason I commented. And YES, I followed rick's AP1 directions on AP2 console with no problems.
To take off and put on the AP2 center console back on its much easier with the radio door off.
Also, I didn't do any cutting, if I recall correctly.
