Default Rio in Hawaii

I apologize for posting another pic of my new Rio but I thought this might bring smiles to some of your faces to see a shot of a shiny new Rio with a Hawaiian background since it is beginning to get cold in most places. This was shot today on the North shore in Hawaii between La'ie and Kailua. It was mid 80's with a few scattered showers.

Unfortunately, there have been big waves for the past two days on that side of the island and there was lots of sand an debris on the road. Also, my car had been rained on at least a couple of times before taking this shot. BOY that Zaino works wonders

Oh, as to the camera, this was shot with a Canon 10D Digital with the 24-70L lens.

Now if I can only figure out why the darn transmission grinds on the 1-2 shift

Happy motoring everyone!

Mark

LOL...DOH! Why didn't *I* think of that

Actually, ONLY 1-2 grinds and it only grinds when it is being shifted uh, er...spiritedly. If you shift slowly and with the RPMs below about 4000, it shifts perfectly. The clutch is completely to the floor but it grinds briefly when the RPMs begin to climb or when you try to shift it quickly. It doesn't do that in any other gear.

Also, has anyone else with an 04 noticed a funny slipping feeling when letting the clutch out quickly? Is like the clutch doesn't engage fully for a second or so, again, when shifting "spiritedly".

I read something on this for the older cars, but figured Honda would have fixed it for 04. Perhaps not Am searching on the forums now for more info.

Thanks,

Mark

Congratulatons on your car Mark, I figured when you never called me, that you bought it from Windward. I'll remove you from the TL waiting list.

I'm pretty sure your synchros for the griding gears are shot. Notify the dealership and get it replaced under warranty ASAP. Cheers and all the best!
