But having said that, its probably almost just as hard as RIO to paint match. And also take into consideration that the car is almost 10 yrs old too.

I took it to the garage I go to to have it inspected before I got it (they are an auto body shop)... After 2 seconds the guy told me that its a very difficult color to match because of all the stages, pearl, etc.
I think I read somewhere that since Spa was so difficult to match, Honda changed to Rio in the later years so it would be easier to blend. Not sure how true that all is, but I'm sweating right now cuz I have an AP2 bumper waiting for paint and I'm horribly nervous as to how its going to turn out
damn Spa!!

damn Spa!!My paint shop was able to match my Rio paint perfectly without blending. I'd like to think that your paint shop will do as well with your Spa.

congrats on finding a good shop, tho. That's awesome
I read this thread and feel rather smug about New Formula Red. My car was rear-ended in 2003, and the rear bumper had to be repainted. The repaint is absolutely undetectable from original. It was identical at the time, and even now, seven years later, you can't tell. Of course, red is just red - a good magnet for State Troopers, but otherwise just a common and unimpressive sports car color.
