Roll Bar Extension available for S2K?

Actually for street use the rollbar may be one of the more dangerous things you can do in a miata....I see them all the time....and it flat out scares me. All I see is their head about 2 inches away from an uprotected piece of metal. You actually got lucky in the type of crash you had. A side impact was probably to only safe crash for a rollbar on the street.
Don't know how many other people see them but I see them all the time and I shake my head. Zero high impact foam....much less than 6 inches from their head. In the event of a modest rear impact you will very likely suffer a serious head injury or death. Rollbars are truely great things....IFF....you are either wearing a helmet, or your head is far enough away from it(and the roll bad is padded well enough)
For comparision sake....why do you think we have side impact air bags? One of the primary reasons is to protect the head from hitting the top of the door frame in a side impact. This known to cause serious head injury or death. The same principle applies to rollbars.
For those of you running roll bars on the street....please consider using some sort of high impact foam to pad them. It could save your life....

So trade being less safe in the accidents that are far more likely to happen and slightly more safe in an accident that is FAR less likely to happen.
The trade off isn't worth it.
A moderate speed traffic accident can be fatal now.

What bothers me more, if you're a tall driver, is the folding mechanism for the roof which is situated about midway at the top center of the side window.
I reckon it would put a nice little hole in your head if t-boned.

...that really bothers me too....fortunately my top is basiclly only up when I park
