Default Roll bar Speakers (pics)

I just put these tweeters in tonight :

I know some of you will say the imaging is off being behind you and all, but it does sound much better. The highs are very crisp and the sound goes right through the "honey comb" grill of the headrest.

To do this I measured 6" inside the rollbar, I marked the middle and one inch back from the perforated line in the plastic. After drilling, I fished the wire through and connected it to my lower rear speakers.

Then I drilled and screwed the tweeter base secure.

Its a seemless design and compliments my car well. I am happy!

U are a very brave person. There was a thread that explained how the sound was affected when the tweeter was not close to the woofer. I think U also got the tweeters behind both seats.
Do U here the tweters with the hood down? Did you change the head unit? what does the speakers behind the seats do?

I hope you got feedback from your friends about your customisation. In my opinion it looks cheap and does not look professional. But at the same time its not my car.

Have fun!

Lucid,

I'm with you. "Imaging" is great for audiophiles, but I just want it to sound good. Got any pics from a little further away?

I'm insulted that you say it looks cheap and not professional. All my designs are seemless and compliment the car well. Sound quality is excellent. My wiring is logical, hidden, and safely done. A "pro" could do no better.

Tweets shouldn't be far from the woofer. They're not!

I know you're just looking to aggravate me so thats all I'll say.

lucid,

Nice job...I'm sure it sounds good...

Did you open up the plastic for the roll bar?

If so, how did you do it? I can't get the plastic off of the roll bar...

Thanks guys... Phantom : I drilled straight down in the plastic and fished the wire through. The easiest way to do this is take your speaker wire, strip it, twist the two wires together, then solder it to a 2 ft line of rosen core solder. Push the 2 ft of solder line through the hole, and pull it through!

From behind:

Right side:

It sounds great, and it took 30 mins. to do. I figured I needed to go with a component setup because with a sub in the back, and the rear speakers too low, the highs are drowning in the bass.
