Default Rota Slipstreams

Hey guys,

Just had a quick question about the rota slipstream 16x8. Ive seen that the 16x7 weigh 13.9 pounds while the 17x7.5 weigh 19 pounds. Ive searched everywhere and cant seem to find the weight on the rota slipstream 16x8. Looked in wheelweight.com and on the search forum. Does anyone know the exact weight.

Also, the stock in the rear is 18.6 for my ap1, so lets just estimate the rota's in the rear are 16 pounds, would I be able to notice the difference in acceleration, corning, braking, etc. I know in past cars when Ive upgraded to larger heavier rims, you can tell the difference right away but Ive never gone to lighter rims.

Also, is rota slipstream the cheapest lightest rims avaliable. I would love to have a rim under 15 pounds in the rear but is it going ot have to be forged or are there other options out there.

Thanks for an help..

Rota is a Cast Wheel Manufacture, not forged...

From there web site

"Superior casting using two distinct methods: low-pressuire and gravity die-casting

Low-pressure die-casting - involves filling the mold with molten aluminum by pressurizing from the bottom. This represents the latest casting technology.

Gravity die-casting - inovlves filling the mold by pouring molten aluminum from the top. Currently the most widely used casting process."

I know rota's are forged, but I was wondering if I will have to go to forged to get under 15 pounds in the rear.

Also, do you know the weight of a 16x8 rota slipstream.

Thanks for your help

Are you sure the 16x8 are 14 pounds.

Seeing other sizes of rota to compare, the 16x7 is 13.9 on wheelweights.net. (they dont show the 16x8)

To compare, the 15x7 is 12.9 pounds and the 15x7.5 are 13.7 pounds. So I would assume the 16x8 are at least 1 pounds heavier than the 16x7. I was just wondering if anyone has the exact weight to see how much of a weight savings I would get by getting the rota's.

Reason I dont buy the forged is basically price.

You must have the 16x8 but you said you cant feel the difference. I would have guessed going at least 3 pounds lighter in the rear compared to stock, you should have felt it a bit quicker in acceleration since when you go to a heavier rim, you can notice the difference.
