Intake Air Temperature sensor

 

I've heard that if your car does this, you may need to turn the key off completely and back on to reset things before trying to start again. Its happened to some people at the track after a spin.

Perhaps the IAC valve is slow on our cars due to internal friction. Some valves may be more "sticky" than others.
