it doesn't make a great daily driver either.
It is way too demanding of a car and not meant for highway driving IMO.
Not to flame anyone, but I don't understand these comments. The S2000 is the most enjoyable daily driver I've ever owned. What is so demanding about it? Not meant for the highway? The highway is one of the few places where I can open up the S's potential. To each his own, but I think the S is ideal because it's like having 2 cars. Under 6000 rpms, it's as mild as a Civic. Over that, and you have one of the best-performing roadsters in the world.
Get the S, boxterb1, and you'll never regret it.

Get the Acura.. college is about having fun and expiriencing life.. Road trips, outings with friends, doing things, learning things. Its not about your car, you'll have plenty of time for that later. Why have to spend time fretting over parking your car and worrying about your car, dings, things getting stolen etc. The RSX is a great car, you can put 3 friends in it, its more comfortble, has 90% of the performance. You can haul things in it, road trip, bring a gal (or 2) out for a camping trip in it, lean the seats way back, fool around in it, drive your drunk ass friends while they puke out the side of your car.. etc. I personally wouldnt get anything new in college.. get a beater. Invest your money now. when you are out of college then get a nice car. But in college, your car will probably get a little beat up.

I had a Honda Accord 4 door for the first 2 years of college, then porsche and a motorcyle for the next 2 years. I had more fun with the Honda for sure! But Ill tell you, thinking back. I would have rather have had my old 1974 VW bus that I bought after college. cheap, no worries about parking etc, you can camp in it, "sleep" in it with friends, Mountain bike racks, kegs, beer runs, your own personal drunk tank, great storage, etc.

Make great memories in college, and get something that will help you do that, the S2000, while fun for you and ONE friend, wont hold a candle to the Acura in terms of the "all around fun" you will have with the Acura. My vote.. get a Honda ELEMENT and invest the extra 5K! Invest that 5 K.. and by the end of college, you will have enough to buy an S2000 and keep the Element

go for the S2000! i'm in your same boat right now, man. i have a 240sx with an sr20det and i want to trade it for an s2000. i'm 20, and in college.....i've driven both the rsx-s and the s2k, and the rsx most definatly does NOT have 90% of the performance. I think right now and within the next few years is the time to buy cars like this, when you know how to enjoy them!

I have owned an '02 RSX Type S, and an '01 S2000.

If luggage space is not a concern, the S2000 is the way to go. It's just so much more fun to drive.

I don't miss my RSX. Actually, I miss the colour (arctic blue pearl)... but thats it.

Don't want to sound like someones dad (wait I am). Get the one that you can afford. Take into account not only the cost of the vehicle, but maintenance, insurance and miscellaneous other things (you know you're going to go for the bling bling factor with either car).

My 2 cents.

But enjoy either car.

The rsx will be the wisest choice.

Buy the RSX-S.
I have an S2000 and an RSX-S in my garage.

The S2000 just doesn't make for a good college car... it doesn't make a great daily driver either.
