Default rubber burning smell!

so, i started to notice this rubber burning smell when i was driving home,
first i thought it was clutch. but im definately sure it is not.
So i opened up the hood, and no such smell was from the engine bay, i tried breath on exhaust fume ,but still no. so i proceed on driving. and stopped somewhere to meet my friends hoping that smell wouldn't be there when i get back to her. however, i could still smell that burning rubber, i checked everywhere but no clue. And i noticed i could smell that around front right tire area or around that, and i recalled "mild hauling sound" i heard when i was getting out of garage in the city. so i tried to weave, turn and donuts in parking lot but i couldn't notice any such sound again, maybe cuz it was so mild and it was little windy to hear.

So heres the question.

1. do you guys have any idea where would that smell come from?

2. i sorta started to think if it was from wrong engine oil filter that i got replaced from local shop? they said they know what they are doing, but who knows? they may have used wrong part? and if it is so, would this cause such smell?

any inputs are welcomed!

thanks in advance
