Default rubber trim around windshield

Guys,

Is the trim piece supposed to be glued down to the windshield? It seems like I can lift the piece up easily.

On my left side, the gap is noticeable. I am thinking of getting a silicone and glue it down.

My guess is the previous owner grabbed this area (often) in order to enter the car or the windshield was replaced

I have the same problem. A windshield repair guy told me they should not be glued down as that is where water flows during rain.

sokeen,

Did yours have the same problem before (if so, was it worst)? What dealership replaced your molding ?

TSB is for earlier model of the S, but I assume it will work for all year.

I wonder if it is worth to take it to the dealership.

Last time I had my oil replaced by the dealership, my car (350z) which was 3 months old got a tow hitch hole on the back bumper. Luckily I caught it before leaving the lot .

Just read the TSB again. Going to Home Depot for the silicone!!

it also happend to me, i had my car serviced at honda and when they returned it to me i found the driver side rubber trim was loose. i called them right away and they said they would fix it under warranty. i also did a softtop latch change and they fixed the rubber piece. also i have a extended warranty under my car.

carson honda replaced the molding for me. the thing with this is that when honda fixes these kind of molding problems, they would need to take out the windshield. they told me that there was a slight possibility that if anything went wrong with the removal, it could crack the glass so they ordered an extra windshield for me. they eventually gave me a new windshield ahha cause my old one had a rockchip
