Rubbing sound on steering wheel !~!~

Default Rubbing sound on steering wheel !~!~

anybody had the same thing here???i can't remember if i saw this topic on this forum........
anyways, when i turn my steering to the right, there is a like a rubbing sound for about 1/4 of the circle, pass that, no more sound........only right turn tho...........

Mine just started doing that in the 90 degree weather the other day. I haven't had a chance to investigate it yet.

This has been posted many times. If it's not the lower edge of the moving part of the steering wheel touching the edge of the stationary part of the column below it, then it's your "cable reel" or "clock spring" that's inside the assembly. If all your electrics are working, you have to decide if it's worth the price of changing this part. Putting a new one in won't assure you of getting rid of this noise. You'll always get some sort of noise when one metal piece slides over another.
