why do you let it run that low? there is no point. just fill it up when you get to around a 1/4 or 1/5 of a tank. why take the risk of getting stuck because you are too lazy to drive to a gas station.

"dinky warning light" - wth?

you want it to scream at you and have a big neon sign tell you its time?

you don't even deserve to drive.

I don't want a neon sign, I want an audible alert before the vehical rolls to a stop in the middle of the beltway. Then I'd really have people wishing I'd taken the bus. A yellow light works fine with an analog dash. But on the S2000's dash it's lost in the Sea of yellow lights.

If I'm blocking trafic on a regular basis, maybe then I "don't deserve to drive", but I'm not. I've never run out of gas. Until the S2000, I've never even come close. With the S2000 I've had the gage on empty 2-3 times.

Are you that much of a fanboy that I can't call the gas light dinky without upsetting you. That's just silly.

BTW -- No one has called me "kid" in a LONG time.
I realize it wasn't the greatest possible thread, but my examples were from that day alone. For the month it wouldn't crack the top 100. Next time I have a couple beers, I'll refrain from posting.

And for "kid", your avatar through me off.

Yesterday after work I saw a warning light with 3 bar left. So I drove about 5 miles to the gas station. That 3 bar was gone to 0 in 5 miles but I make it to gas station. I filled up about 11+ gallons so I guess I have about another 20 save miles.

No, it doesn't beep when you are low on fuel, trust me. When I autoX, I run with the lowest amount of fuel I can do. I will add a gallon or two afterwards so I can get home and back the next day for the next autoX. I often have 0-2 bars and the light on, but have never run out of fuel.

Just sell the car now, buddy.

I don't know whether this thread is a desperate plea for attention, or if you're really just that incompetent in keeping your car from running out of gas.

Boy, tough crowd!

Just wanted to throw in that even when the warning light comes on, you've still got at least 20 miles left... (well, not on the track).

actually, i still disagree. if its fluctuating between zero bars and two, its not telling me anything.

at this point it seems like a matter of difference of opinion and behavior that i dont intend on changing or convince anyone else. so i'll just leave this thread alone and you can save the lectures on honda reliability.
the bars are not correct because if you take a hard right turn you will gain a bar or 2. i was cursing down on a flat road and i noticed the idiot light and there was no bars. I took a right hand turn and BOOM i got gas again *NOT*

so don't be fooled from full tank to empty i say 250miles is a safe bet for me. Not every car is the same so i pump after 250 or latetly when i have 5 bars i pump.
