Default Run out of gas yet?

I haven't yet, ever, with any car, but it'll happen soon. I never notice when the light comes on. Twice now, I've looked down and seen the gage on 0, no lights. Both times I made it to a gas station, but my days are numbered. My last car had an audible warning that you couldn't miss at 40 miles to empty. So I'm not used to this.

Has anyone installed a gas beeper? Kinda like a shift beeper? Is it safe to drive with a gas can it the truck? Who's run out of gas?

My light came on today. I think it even beeped when it did. Had 1 notch left.

Same here. I've never been down 1/4 tank yet. When it reaches 1/2, I'm ready for a fuel stop.

Does it beep? Not that I'd ever hear it with the top down. I check the tach and the speed regularly, but I don't notice the other stuff. It's just a sea of yellow lights.

ive found my gas indicator to fluctuate between zero to 1 or even 2 bars even after the gas light came on. when i eventually fill up, i usually had another gallon left at least.

i guess its just the digital nature of the bar display.

but seeing no bars does urge you to find a gas station quick, even if 10 miles earlier it was at 2 bars...
