I haven't had any problems for the last 5 years with front plates, never ran them and haven't had any trouble with police.

I've run without front plates (even though they're required) on three of my cars. I've never been pulled over in any of them for not having a front plate. When I was stopped for other things (speeding) the cop didn't even mention the absense of my front plate.

Unless they're looking really hard for a reason to stop you most cops won't even bother with you. Especially with an S2000, if you're driving fast you'll draw all kinds of bad attention from police. But if you're minding your business they just see a guy in a nice sports car and usually go on their way (that's always been the case for me anyways).

I've had no front plate for about the last 3 years in NY where they are also required, and I have been pulled over for it 5 or 6 times, but was only given a ticket for it once (when the car was parked for a car meet ). I think its worth it... car looks so much cleaner with no front plate.

my front liscence plate holder came off before i even bought the car. The delaer in my area has a tendency to drill a hole in your front bumper to keep the front liscence plate from vibrating. I had to be sure that wasnt there before i bought it and once it was off, it never went back on. Only time i had a problem with cops was when i had temp tags and it was on the front window and the cop tried to tell me that it had to be on the rear window. I told him since my top is down I dont have one. He just laughed and told me ok, just remember to put your tags on when i get them. I wouldnt worry about it.

I won't drive without a front plate in CA. I don't need to give a cop a reason to pull me over or ticket me.

Cops issue fix-it tickets like mad at LAX. In certain areas, meter maids will issue you fix-it tickets.

When I lived in NJ I went without front plates for 2 years and not pulled over once. Of course there's a ton of PA drivers (PA doesnt require fronts) in NJ so it was pretty common to see cars with no front plates.
