The S bumpers are tough
My boss always thinks it's funny to park next to me as close as he can so I can't get in. Last night he was on his cell phone while pulling out and cut it to close and dragged the back end of his truck across the driver side corner of my front bumper. Doesn't look too bad but there are a few scrape lines and a quarter-size spot where a chunk of the paint chipped off.
As hard as he did it and the noise it made I expected the bumper to be ripped off, but it survived, along with my lip! These S bumpers are pretty tough, even in the cold.
There, I feel better now that I've vented
He'll pay to fix it, but I feel bad for him paying because he's a nice guy. Should I just shake it off and let it go? The whole car has been painted completely in the past year so it is basically perfect everywhere else.

I'm tempted to just let it go, but then I think not because it's his fault for being "funny" and parking so close, then talking on the phone and not paying attention when he pulls out. I think it's fair to let him pay for it, but not to push it. If they can get it close to fixed for $100ish then I'll let it go at that. It's not like he accidentally dinged my car when the wind caught his door opening or something. I'd let that go.
Thank you for you help, all. And not OT for me, salaried. I refuse to put in any extra hours beyond the 12-13/day I already work without direct compensation

Before you just let it go, remember that the bumper was probably malformed while your boss was trying to be cocky and the paint is probably seperated from the plastic now. Over time, you'r going to see big chunks crack and flake off, and you won't be so happy any more.
If you and your boss are on good enough terms for him to act like an idiot and park that close to your car, he can pay to have the bumper sanded and repainted.
