I think he's referring to the bog at pre- 3K shifting. You can be smooth as you want with the technical stuff, but from my experience, it still won't be as smooth as a 5K shift.

Coming from ported engine FD3S on standalone EMS and unsprung twin plates and a 6lb flywheel... The S is like a luxury car haha
But yes, If you look at the S2k's owners manual, the recommended shift points (translated from speed) all happens almost 4k ish. That should be a good reference point.

I was thinking to myself about this today as well, shifting at 3k required a lot more clutch and throttle play than the more naturally flowing shift at 4k-4.5k
As a whole the car definitely handles better in every facet of the way when you get on it
EDIT: Yesterday I really got on the car, drove for an hour from pulls on the highway etc hitting vtec a lot. Today the car feels WAY more peppy and shifts noticeably smoother at lower rpm's.
