S is for scary
I, too, learned once about oversteer the hard way. When you begin to drift in the S (rear wheel drive), feather the throttle and countersteer! If you lift off the gas or brake you'll get a nice panoramic view of the world.
Here's a word from an old man (60). Some of you were raised on those FWD monstrosities with so much understeer they almost don't want to turn that you need some practice to learn how to handle true neutral steering. I grew up on the Healeys, vintage Jags and Porsches. The s2k is much better behaved than they were. I had my alignment set to actually increase oversteer (so they said) and the dealer actually warned me before I drove off. Hey, no problem at all. As you accelerate through a turn, you simply must be prepared to steer in the opposite direction of the turn at the onset of oversteer, and use a little throttle control. Learn slowly, and you'll learn how it's done, and then will have the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

I drove an RX-8 before buying the S2000. I expected there to be no contest, but the RX-8 really is a great car - I drove to the Honda dealership thinkng this could end up being a hard choice.
Then I drove the S2000.

The RX-8 makes for a nice sedan. You get a lot of car for your money. I sat in one but was just not comfortable. I thought about trading my 4Runner for one for a daily driver but there was just not enough room in it for my daily needs.
When you are ready to buy a sports car, you will be back.
