S to the Z... could it be!?
Late night rant topic I've been pondering over for the past few weeks to throw out here:
I have found that 350z's are now going for incredibly cheap prices (kind of like the s2k I guess... grrrr the economy!) and found some really nice deals which I would not hesitate to jump on... if I wasn't attached to my car and could actually sell it for a decent price in this market.
I test drove a 2003 track model 350z and thought the ride was very pliant and comfortable, no blaring road noise, not as responsive or agile (which I wouldn't mind as I'm looking to get into a more low key car). However, it is also a two seater with limited trunk space. Just wondering if you guys think it's worth the hassle trying to sell my car to pick up a 350z and free up $4-6k in cash (which helps me toward a future condo purchase). I am looking to get into a sporty car (non-convertible) that still has some speed and edge but around the $12-$14k price range and that is a bit more practical. I love my s2000 and would like to keep it forever and hand it down to my kids, but the 60 mile daily commute to work in it in LA traffic is starting to take its toll on me. Is the 350z THAT much more comfortable as a daily driver? The car I found is a touring model and I dig the leather seats and bose system and it feels sporty yet comfortable. I don't want the "honeymoon" effect to grasp me and influence a bad decision here. If anyone has any input that would be great! Also, would maintenance be any more expensive? I know tires will cost a heck of a lot more for starters but I guess overall? The 350z's can also take a beating which I like, the one I drove had 100k+ miles and still ran strong.
There's still nothing like driving top down in beautiful socal though. That I will miss the most. One of the largest downsides too if i do sell mine is that S2000 owners love their cars, they are rare and have a timeless design. The 350z's I think still look nice, but look a bit "cheaper" and are way too common in socal. Then again, I'm not really looking to stand out or anything. Sigh... what to do!?!?

hmmm up to you bro, the 350z is a nice design and many like the style. if your looking for a larger car with more creature comforts the Z might be the answer. i feel the 350z coupe is a nice car, just remember gas will rise again and the tank is around 20Gal if im correct while the S has 13.2 but yeah MPG is decent in the Z. but the only thing i would hate is that the early Z's had really crappy interior built and i heard the ride wasnt too good (non-track models). idk up to you but if you can save $$ in this hard econ time, and you think the choice is a good path to take... do it. research and think hard before selling the S
but yeah goodluck with the outcome.
