s2000=totalgratification
I have been reading a lot of the posts by people interested in buying the s2k and the opinions of people who own them. I am waiting to test drive one now and that will be the deciding factor for me but I was thinking the s2k has everything I always looked for in my cars and motorcycles but it is in one package. I had mg's and Mustang gt's at the same time because I only liked small conv. but I needed a power and speed fix which I would get from the mustang and I satisfied my high r.p.m. thrills by riding high per. motorcycles know if you think about it the s2000 seems to me to be all this wrapped into one package(from what I have read from owners anyways) small conv. fast and high revver.
I have been talking back and forth with a dealer who is trying to arrange one so I hope to test drive this week or next. My cousin has a civic si 99 I think, that redlined at 8500 and that was my first vtec experience. At first I was afraid to push it over 6k because to my ear it sounded to be at redline already but she assured me it was alright and after the first time I redlined it I was hooked and I repeatedly ran the car over 6k after that! My only concern was because I kept the car in the power band that resulted in me driving at higher speeds so a radar detector would be in order I think!
IT's not for everyone, only special people need apply. Either you need low end torque or you love the niche of the s2000. It took a little getting used to for me, but the scream and surge at 6000 is heavenly!
