I think it's like SakiGT said though, a lot of people dont know the difference. They probably just thought it was a "new" miata.

I've never had my car mistaken for a Viper, but in two separate occasions, people thought it was a Ferrari. One old black guy said, "Nice Ferrari" at a gas station when I was pumping gas and another young black guy with a modded Camaro raced me from a dig, beat me and when we met up at the same gas station later, he said, "Damn! I didn't know it was a Ferrari!"

lol the only way I still see the resemblance is with both cars coming at you front the front b/c of the long hood/low profile similarity..... vipers are freakin wide in person as mentioned before though.
