I think it looks like a hearse for pets! If I owned a pet cemetery, I'd own one for sure.

Us old-timers remember when MG tried this about 30 years ago. They called it the MGB-GT. All it turned out to be was a heavier MGB: Big bumpers, smog pump, no power.

The M coupe is $45k base, the soft top is over $46k. I don't see why they're ragging on the guy for saying the S2k is a 'poor' man's M coupe. Performance wise at least, he is right on. Lookswise, give me the S2k any day. Then put the $14k difference towards an SC and some other goodies and call it even.

Gee there's some dumb a/holes on that board. Wonder if any of them even own or have driven the cars they 'know so much' about?

The M Coupe, like the S2000, has very few options. (CD, alarm etc.) They have been delivered, just a few in the last couple of weeks.

It has what has to be considered one of the best engines in a production car (along with the S2000). The shifter is excellent for a five speed, and the handling is much improved over the M Roadster. (Much more rigid car) It does have a dated rear suspension, trailing arm, which is known to be unsettled when unloading.

BMW sort of neutered the new engine by lengthening the ratios. They kept the same gear box ratios as the 240hp version with the 6250 redline but they changed the rear dif from 3.23 to 3.15 for the 315hp version with 7600 redline engine. The car should put out numbers a little off of the M 3. It weighs about 300 pounds less, but has lower hp 18 and longer ratios. Its hp/weight ratio is .1 which is pretty damn good. Higher than the M5. Only the Z8 is higher in the BMW line-up.
