S2000 = poor man's M Coupe.

I think it looks like a hearse for pets! If I owned a pet cemetery, I'd own one for sure. [/QUOTE]
SpaS2k - that's just TOO funny!!!!! Man, you make me laugh....I'm still cacking myself over that one!!

Now you've done it....my wife's going to think I'm crazy when I unconditionally launch into a fit of laughter whenever I think about your feelings on the M-Coupe!
Interesting looking automobile...but not for me!
BTW, that forum is a crock. Guess that not a lot of them have really driven the cars they claim to know so much about! What's with 20,000+ posts in a year - don't they have anything better to do? Even our famed Greg Stevens can't post that much in a year!
Makes me want to do this.....

The '00 and earlier M-Coupes and M-Roadsters had a 240 HP 3.1L engine and was priced around $40K.
the '01 M-Coupes and M-Roadsters (undelivered yet as far as I know) have the sweet new M3 315 HP 3.2L engine. ... and a price increase.
The older M-Coupe was pretty comparable to the S2000 on a technical track; likely faster on an open track. The new M-Coupe, I'm guessing, will our asses on the track. Still not very attractive in the coupe, and not very stiff in the roadster, however.

Z3M, M Coupe in UK and Europe has always had the 321 BHP engine since early 98, 0-60 in 4.9 / 5.1 respectively
0-100mph in 11.9 / 12.0.
Both around 1400 Kg, so on a real twisty the S2000 may keep ahead, but in any straight line you have little hope of keeping up.
New Z3M roadster, has 343 Bhp 269 lb/ft motor, you guys really are getting short-changed, maybe our Euro S2000's do have more power
hah.. i responded to the punk w/ the eclipse saying 'skyline owns s2k'
's2k owns eclipse' usually reading a thread on OT.net.. when someones trying to make a point.. its like listening to a 5yr old scream.

Having driven the 240hp version of the M Coupe I can say that the car is of such a different character that there is about as much reason to compare the 2 as there is to compare the S2k and a Z28 Camaro. Hey they both have 2 doors and are meant to be driven fast. Yeah, that's it. The MCoupe and the S2k are so dissimilar that to suggest that the Honda was conceived in the shadow of the bimmer is moronic. Now the Metro Lsi 3 cylinder ragtop is another story. That car is every bit the equal of the Ferrari Modena, right? Especially with the dealer added pin stripe package.
I think the looks of the M-coupe kind of grow on you. It certainly isn't one of the prettiest cars ever built, but if one wants tire-smoking torque with great handling, it would likely give the Z06 a run for it's money...
Between those two, which is the better looking car, inside and out?
