For everyone complaining about DBW, get a tune and it becomes a non-issue... seriously

I was really surprised when I got my 2016 Toyota finding out that the oil changes were 10k. My maintenance light came on at 5k (sounded reasonable) so I took it in and they just rotated the tires. When I asked about an oil change they told me it was 10k for oil changes. The light will pop on every 5k for a rotation with oil changes every 10. Now that I am outside my 2 years of free services I will admit have skipped a few rotations.

I refreshed all fluids in my S2k when I first got it in May since I had no idea on them aside from engine oil.

Funny I have the opposite as the benefits of flashpro out weigh the negative of the softer suspension on the 08 as suspension bits are easy to swap out to whatever setup you want. I think other things like the fuel system really only come into play if you want to boost the car but I am not that familiar with it. Also compare the DBW system on a completely different car isn't really a fair comparison. Having driven both I found the DMW more responsive due to the larger throttle body size and if you add a tune to it its even better. I will admit it is hard to beat the fun of revving the car out to 9k but AP2's have a lot of reliability benefits over AP1's especially the early 00-01 cars. In the long run either will be fun and I would suggest maybe trying to test drive a few in quick successions so you can more evenly compare them.

I agree. My S2000 is stock and it's more fun than my e90 M3 with Dinan mods (even though the M3 will blow it away in every category aside from MPG). The S2000 just has "driving drama" down to an art.

06+ and Flashpro = WIN.

I've owned almost every year S2000 and the Flashpro really transforms the car. I would avoid the AP1 like the plague.

S2000 DBW feels virtually the same as a cable.

You're comparing it to a VW....

A VW, man!
