Until I see some real proof I still think this is B.S. Here's a highly modded Cobra with your Kenne-Belle blower running 12's. http://www.azmustangs.com/shannon98.htm If it only cost $3K-$4K to run 10's in a Cobra everyone would be running 10's.

that mustang is totally different from the 2003 Cobra, you're comparing apples and oranges.

12.34 @ 113 mph on Nittos

I hear experience speaking..

I had an '85 Mustang that ran 15's when I bought it and I spent five years and a lot of money to get it into the high 12's.

My brother (the real mechanic in the family) bought it from me and started over spending a fortune and another five years to get into the high 10's. But it was so hard on components that he turned around and reconfigured it for reliability and it was back to 12's.

It takes a pretty serious driver as well as equipment to run reliable 10's.

If this car can run 13.8 stock.... I imagine 4.77 gears, a hard launch, intake, header, exhaust.... high 12's should be possible!

Chances are you'll never see an s2000 hit a 1.6 60 foot though...

A 12 second s2000 would probably one helluva fun car.

Oh, so he meant that you should supercharged an already supercharged car? Yeah, that's probably what he meant.

Sorry pal. I was at the track today and saw a blown cobra running consistent mid 12's (with a good launch). No way for that kind of money (meaning you would have to spend considerably more) can you get into the 10's. Geez - Most Pro Street Nitrous and Blown cars still have a hard time running consistently in the 10's.

Thiokol makes a small version of their solid prepellant booster rocket for cars under 2,900 lb. You mount two in the horizontal positon and easily reach the 1/4 mile in 10 seconds from ignition.

Sorry about the 90 degree rotation.

10's is real hard to acheive in a daily driver. My brother has a twin turbo Z. When it was stock, with few bolt ons, it ran 12.6. He took it apart and spent thousands to go faster and now he's running 13's. Cars that run 10's are stripped to the bone, turbo charged and nitrous fed. This is the only way they can acheive low numbers.

s2k2go-obviously i don't know what i'm talking about or else i wouldn't have asked the question

my whole deal is this though. my friend just got a 2001 s4. which basically runs mid 13's stock. well i love competition and i always loved the look of the s2000. i already have a 94 ls acura legend 6-speed, so as a second car i want something sporty. the s4 is sporty, so is the wrx and sti, but they are 4 doors and i want something for the summer. maybe a supratt or s2000. i just don't want to get smoked by other cars.

thanks for all the honest input guys, though. i mean i have some time to make my decision, i just want to make sure i do my homework first.

i guess 13's isn't too bad either. what are your guys thoughts on a supratt? or bmw m3 convert (the new ones)?
