Default S2000???

I currently own a 1999 3000gt VR4, but have this feeling inside of wanting an S2000. My question is, should I got ahead and get one? I plan on selling my car for around 35k, but my best offer has been 33,500. Theres a lot of cars out there that I could get with that kind of money. Supra, S2000...etc. What should I get? I want something fast and reliable. And I DEFINITELY plan on adding aftermarket parts....Lots of them. Any opinions would be helpful. Thanks!

If you want gobs of power in a sweet looking car go with the Supra.

If you want a reliable car that handles awesome and looks sweet as well go with the S2k.

What it basically comes down to is the Supra since it's turbo'ed responds well to mods and it's really easy to make them fast fairly cheaply. Meanwhile aside from a supercharger there really isn't a whole lot of big power mods out there for the s2k so make sure if you want a "fast" car you drive the s2k first and make sure you are ok with her speed!

Is everyone referring to a used Toyota Supra? They don't make them anymore do they? '98 was the last year I heard of.

Yeah, I mean a used Supra and yes 98 was the last year. The thing about the supra is that its like a Japanese muscle car. I like the idea that the S2000 is like 2 cars in one. I have a Civic Si under 6k revs, and an NSX after that. It just seems more practical for daily driving. The question is, "how fast can the S2000 be?". I hear of all this talk about differentials going out, and clutches, and what not. So how much power do you guys think the S2000 is capable of handling without upgrading such parts? But I do understand that doing so would probably be safer. Also, I have driven an S2000 but didn't really get to punch it off the line. How bad or how hard is the launch? Thanks guys.

I didnt mean muscle car in the manner that all it can do is go fast in a straight line. The supra just seems more like a monster when your driving it. It pulls VERY hard in all 6 of its gears. Its neck snapping, tire-burning power. And it pulls a .98g's on the skidpad too. I must agree though the it IS more of a taste, rather than which car is better. What I want to know is, how is the s2000's character from an owners point of view. I really didn't get to flog it and drive it around for a month so I woudnt know. And what about the VR4...anybody say just keep it?

Just by the way you describe the Supra Turbo, it sounds like you're leaning in that direction. Also, coming from a 3000GT VR4, I'd have to say that you probably would feel more at home in the Supra. If you love that "pin you to the seat" rush that you get from the twin turbos in your VR4, you'll be disappointed with the S2000.

The S2000 is small and nimble. The Supra is large and brutish. Adding mods to the S2000 won't give you much in terms of performance gains but it will deplete your wallet quickly. The Supra is better if you plan on tinkering with the car.

Today, I heard you can import an R33 for about that price maybe a little more, but the steering wheel's on the right side.
