I dont know about the RX7. Im not exactly a rotary pro. Matter of fact, I dont know a thing about them. Supra......sounds great, but Im thinking S2000. Sounds like it'd just be more fun.

3rd gen RX-7 is a good blend between the best attributes of the Supra and S2000....near Supra-like power, very easy to modify, and go kart-like handling. Unfortunately, reliability and durability are weak points. I have some friends who run a performance shop and own well-modded RX-7's. They say the engine is typically good for ~80K miles, sometimes less. Fortunately, replacements are really cheap ($2-2.2K?).

Before you start feeling comfortable with the "magazine numbers" you should ask the question "What kind of launch does it take to get those times".

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but isn't it something to the tune of: Rev to 7000 and sidestep the clutch?

Since this isn't something that you're going to do on a daily basis the numbers (in a practical sense) should be higher. As johev said, you have to work for those numbers.

I for one, love and absolutely need to have a NEW car when I am spending that much money.

This made my decision between a Supra and an S2000 fairly easy.

The Supra is definitely the easier car to mod at this point, but mods for the S2K have only really begun to be developed. Some aftermarket companies are just now starting to purchase an S2K to work on. I'm sure in the future, there will be many more mods available that will yield greater gains.
