And is it ok to leave the OEM plugs in until 105k miles as recommended in the manual?

My car is an 01 with just over 70k miles and i'm debating whether i should add changing the spark plugs to the list of maintenance items that i'll be doing in the spring.

That`s been my sparks after 24 k miles. You can see that the electrode is burned down to the cone shaped part. Electrode distance was at aprrox 2mm while the wear tolerance is 1.3 mm

I don`t know if this is representive for all S2000 or caused by my individual boundary conditions: TP, Skunk2 Exhaust, custom made ram air, german autobahn, ...

Anyway, I suggest to have a look on the sparks much earlier than stated in the manual - especially when you have any mods ...

And take the OEM ones.

Robert

I was told the Bosch Iridium 4 prongs can last for 100Km
That's pushing it. I inspect the plugs at every oil change. They're cheap to replace.

Definately go ahead and replace those with another set of NGKs. I mean its not that much $$$ for piece of mind, and its part of a complete tune up package.

I changed my NGK Laser Platinums at 40k miles.

At that I would say they were on their way out. Still useable, but definitely in need of a change.

There is no way i'd leave a sparkplug in a car for 100k miles.
