Ive ridden in my buddy's SS with Bilstien package... it handles pretty nice... but it takes a pretty good driver to get into S2000 territory with one.

Ive ridden in both.. and I must say... it is a completely different experience. Go out to a local autoX one day... and ask for rides...

Sime, I'm an Ex-Vetter myself (99 vert) and had similar experiences and have similar feelings as you. However, your off base telling Magnetic1 he's wrong. For Magnetic1 the Vette is the ULTIMATE balance of luxury, power, handling and refinement. That's his opinion. His works (I'd still have mine and think similar thoughts if it had worked and GM (no)service departments hadn't raped me every single visit). You and I don't share that opinion for the good reasons mentioned, but that doesn't make his opinion wrong. Nor do I think it diminishes his feeling for his Vette.

With that said, don't by GM gabedude, my experience tells me that you will be setting yourself up for lots of disappointment. If I were you I'd stick with the Lude (you have one of the best cars at that price point) and save up some more money as a lot of new cars are coming in the next 2 years.

Thanks Silver... love that M5

Well.. I do have the oil consumption problem... thats b een a known issue since the early LT1s. GM is SUPPOSED to have a fix 3rd qrt. finally... some believe it is a break in issue... with the rings not broken in properly.. more oil seems through. Dunno...

I do believe the MASS of problems you have is isolated.. All cars have problems... S2ks also.. AutoXEX had cylinder4 fail on him too... the only thing that pisses me if service. but I think more people can attest to Honda having bad service too... I dunno.. its all relative.

I love my Vette because of its heritage, power, handling, and nice little touches.. like the heads up display, blacklit panels... active handling... list goes on.. I never at any point said it was better than the S2000. I just prefer it. and definitly prefer it over the SS.

And the Vette has won many awards beginning with MT car of the year.. since then.. it has garnered much press... including best initial quality...which is why I dont understand why they let yours slip through....

Just because you have a Honda doesnt make you immune to problems. I hate people who just go.. I have a Honda.. so therefore.. it will never break, it will live forever. And Honda has their own problems too.. every car manufacturer does... http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...?threadid=17026

Just sad to hear a ex-fellow vetter having so many problems. Id had a brief stint with the brake booster.. that really kept me from enjoying the car... but after that was all fixed... Im having a blast...

Ive owned all American cars... 95 Grand Am (100+k miles) with no major problems... a 99 Grand Prix GTP (65k+ miles) with no major problems... maybe Ive just got a good string going (knock on wood)
