i actually posted a thread on the rubber thinghy that accumulates rust , prior to the S i had a crx which had this problem on the rubber thing.

and 95% people were telling me to keep it on and it was there for a reason. now im stumped.

i yanked it out on my crx but am wonderinf if i should do the same on the S

if you live in an area with snow, then remove them. if u live in a nice warm climate all yr round, then leave them on.

yea i totally agree. i think i posted that a few posts up. if u dont have salt and sand to worry about after it snows, then leave them on. its only for people that live in snowy areas that i recommend taking them off.

dem , i live where it snows a hell lot in winter....... hmmm

whats the cons of taking them off then? cause im thinking if i store my car in winter will it help.......

I'm actually thinking about taking them off, cleaning the area and then adding a black spray on rubber mold in its place. That way it seals up the metal

Removed mine on the integra today.


I'll be trying to fix the rust soon, wasn't bad...

Usually the rusting in the back is taken care of by sealer.

I know Toyota's standard is 10 years.
They use an accelerator to test their protecting surface , (ED, Primer, Base, Clear), and based on how far it rusts in a certain amount of time lets them know if they are in standard.

I'm assuming Honda does the same thing. So I'd say around 10 years you actually might start seeing rust if not before that.

my integra had a few bits of rust already starting to form, its even bubbling under the paint...


i think i'm just gonna live with it, its already 12 years old and its my DD
