S2000 as a daily driver?
Well s2000 is my only car so I have no choice, but driving to school for about 30 miles back and forth is not good for me cause its too small, sometimes I wish I bought an evo or sti instead, but im still happy with the s2k, my next car will be a sedan...no more 2 seaters
for me cause I drive too much and I need room lol.

If you want to just drop the top fun I think you might go with a Miata. It's got more room and you won't have to push yourself out out of the car as others have mentioned. Getting into a miata is a whole lot easier. I had one before the S. Get the new retractable hard top version or a used Mazdaspeed (your gas of course will suffer). I'm thinking of switching back in the future to a Miata for gas and insurance reasons.
My DD is my S and I can tell you it gets just as good mileage as my AT Scion Tc. In heavy rains I prefer the Tc.

i use my s2000 as a daily driver mainly just to show off at work, since im the only one their with a convertible. also my work place is one of those safe places where you can park your car with the topdown.
Freaking insurance is around 300$ a month with full coverage. whats the point of buying a nice car if people cant see you ride in it.
also its funny cause im only 19 with an s2000 (better than 90% of what people are driving to my work)

i got a scion TC as a rental for 1 day, i thought i was sitting in a limo or something, there was so much open space compared to the S2k, was kinda scary. i was glad to get back into the S 24 hrs later.
and to answer your Q, mine is a daily driver and its perfectly fine.

The advantage of driving an s2k as a DD to me is the compactness. I'm not worried, especially in tight roads with parked cars on both side, of hitting other cars but with fat SUV's I've experienced the worst with my poor civic. In the car waiting for class when all of a sudden hearing a *thump..then *ka-thump. "WTF' then some oversize lady squeezed through from the suv without even considering an apology. Very rude. I got out and checked for damages but wow, i coudn't be mad at all. Civic paint survived for the most part.
Like any stick car to drive, s2k is the greatest choice. Dependability of honda and luxury of convertible bmw.

Living everyday with it is not that bad. I have been driving it daily for the past 7 months now. I got through the winter just fine. lol. Probably because it's not cold here in Georgia. However, the car is very small though. I was thinking of getting back to a bigger car like a sedan.
Its my DD take it everywhere, i ranked up miles like crazy(05 ~60k), but this car is ment to be driven.
The only thing that kills me is the gas and tires and little things here and there.
Just enjoy the car!

mine has been a daily driver for about 2 years. it was also my dads daily driver for 2 years before i got it.
when i drive my parents cars (2005 Honda Accord V6 or 2005 Nissan Altima SE-R) i cant stand it. i'd rather have my S2k as daily driver over both of those cars.
so in other words the s2k is a great daily driver for me.

My 04 S2000 is my DD. I drive 22 miles in stop and go traffic from Fairfax, VA to Washington, DC twice a day. My other car is a BMW 325xi. I much prefer the S2000 as my DD than the BMW. The main reason is the S is so small and toss-able that I can bob and weave through traffic, but cannot do so in the BMW. If I didn't drive a small car like the S, it would definitely make my commutes much longer!
