whats the point of buying a nice car if people cant see you ride in it.
also its funny cause im only 19 with an s2000 (better than 90% of what people are driving to my work)

2. maybe because people who work at restaurants are more money-wise than to spend above their means?

If you want to just drop the top fun I think you might go with a Miata. It's got more room and you won't have to push yourself out out of the car as others have mentioned. Getting into a miata is a whole lot easier. I had one before the S. Get the new retractable hard top version or a used Mazdaspeed (your gas of course will suffer). I'm thinking of switching back in the future to a Miata for gas and insurance reasons.
My DD is my S and I can tell you it gets just as good mileage as my AT Scion Tc. In heavy rains I prefer the Tc.

I use my S2000 as a DD, but I only drive 10 miles to work, and no freeways involved. The noise gets to me, but the suspension is fine and the car is comfortable --once inside.
Nothing better than dropping the top and feeling the morning breeze as you drive to work.

I had a Miata: it is SMALLER than the S2000. I barely fit inside my Miata, and once in it my head touched the top (I am 6'0"). I fit fine in my S2000.

LOL, the Miata also goes forever on a tank of gas.
My plan was to buy a beater a week after owning the S, but after daily driving the S for a week, I found no need to. I bought winter tires instead and haven't had trouble since.
Keep that in mind. The most important element to keep this car "safe" are good tires.

I will be using my S2000 as a daily driver. I have heard mixed feelings from other sites...
I want to know what the good people of S2Ki think of the S2000 as a daily driver? I will be giving my wife my car and buying the S2000 for myself to go to work and daily drives.
I don't particularly mind road noise because my music is usually too loud anyways to care. I don't mind bumpy rides cause...I know it comes with the territory.

I use my S as a DD btw. Its a Civic when you need it to be and a sports car the rest of the time imo.
I purchased my S to be my daily driver, I think it really depends on what kind of car you are used to. Some people complain its too noisy, it is no more noisy than my past cars for the last 30 years since they have all been convertibles. Some people complain its too small, again not for me, its actually luxurious compared to my last car.
For some people Drive is a gear, the S2000 is not for them.
For some people Drive is a pleasure, the S2000 was built for them.
I put 2,000 miles on my S last month and I work 3.8 miles from home, I have been known to drive 40 miles each way just for a good Pizza. Gas is about the same as most other cars, the only part on a S that makes it more expensive than other cars to drive is the tires and even that is not extreme considering the smiles per miles the car gives.

The cockpit in our S2000 is a much tighter fit than our MY90 (first gen) Miata. It is also easier to get in and out of the Miata because there is more room between the seat back and the door (when the door is open). I'm six foot tall too, and have never had a problem with headroom in either car. The S2000 has less leg room, but it still has room to spare.

The fuel economy on the S is about the same as the miata. Of course if vtech all the way home you just get a lighter wallet and bigger
.

Blizzaks FTW!
