i have a video of an S (not mine)doing 280kph (174mph). from the looks of the rev counter it looked like a 00-03 model.

the car is gear limited to 174 (or that's what I have read here several times before anyway) so yeah it would be possible if that is the case (assuming you had enough power to overcome the drag limit, or were going downhill).

drag limit is about 163mph. the guy's name was turbo dave I believe (though he was N/A) I think all he had was intake/exhaust, but he was going down a slight hill.

Here is the million dollar question:

What is the lowered drag on a full mugen kit on the s2k? And increased downforce?

Full kit for the RSX will yield - at 60mph the kit achieves 69% increased down force, and a 11% better DC

I started a thread about this LONG ago link - https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...opic=78468&hl=

Never got an answer, looked promising for a bit but no one followed up.

*edit* 5th gear tops out ~150mph, on a flat road top down, 6th gear pulls REALLY slow at that point. Speedo said 155 and I stoped.

Back to the drag coefficient - I saw a thread on this last year and can't find it now. As I recall, the consensus was that it was in the .36-.38 range. As much as I love my S2000 and wish it was lower, this seems like a reasonable number to me. The last Porsche 911 has a claimed coefficient of @.33. The S2000, with a convertible top, just isn't going to get there. If it's only 10% higher, at .36, I'm happy.

As for top speed, this gear chart (for the MY04) shows that the revs run out of gearing at just over 150 mph. That's the best you can get @ 8000 rpm in 6th gear with stock gearing and wheels.

Yeah, the gearing on the 00-03 S2k can hit 174mph (indicated)
