s2000 driveway find...
all you can see is the other side with bondo on a part rear of the rear wheel arch...about 10inches by 6. looks like hell....
paint on all surfaces other than sides is toast, faded and discolored, and hood has parts of clear coating peeling off with clear bra remnant.
interior black seats are all apart at seems but still hold you well....carpet a mess, passenger window not working, drivers door fixed with reattachment of rod to handle under door card
car will get all fluids and filters, valve adjustment, maybe some valve retainers as needed, new belt and one pulley, rebuild gaskets of vetch controller, new brakes complete, new tires complete, a good cleaning as it was a smokers car.recent cloth black top with glass rear window and no defroster switch, maybe some other stuff we need to check out still....needs complete paint job and dent bondo fixed.

That car will be a great project. It reminds me of a time long ago when I was young and stupid and broke. I bought a 1966 Land Rover. The engine block and head and related parts were literally in crates in the back seat. The body on Land Rovers is aluminum so it was ok. The brakes were ok. Suspension ok. So, I bought a repair manual and found a parts source. I had the block bored oversize, bought new oversize pistons and rings. I had the head redone, shaved it, new guides and valves. New resized head gasket. Had the crank turned. Got some new bearings and some plasti-gauge and I'll be darned - it ran like a top when I put it back together. It was a nice engine actually. Four banger. Got me through grad school.
Enjoy the time with your son.

So far my son has done all fluid changes as needed, bled clutch, adjusted valves, replaced pulley, fixed door handle which was disconnected inside door, cleaned it up, changes plugs, filters. rebuilt vetc controller complete, Runs good, vtec is strong pull, clutch is a maybe to replace, brakes work very well, need to fix passenger side door window which does not work at all, replace top seals which are shot (top is newish and cloth and it has a rear glass window with defogger with no switch for defogger), new dunlop tires all around...stock wheels, vibration and rattle in drive line still to check out, maybe needs bushings all around, struggling with key fobs to get one working...it's got good bones and it's now driven daily.
he also has a 99 miata with 275,000 miles that needs some tlc, it's essentially a track car, he is an instructor on local track days as well...and a daily driver tahoe with 180,000 miles...(towing vehicle for track days and daily driver) At this point he uses his car wishperer skills to take old high mileage cars, bring them back and make them sing again....
