S2000 - "an endangered species"
My dad was supposed to teach me, but I got impatient and taught myself. He is still amazed to this day that I learned to drive manual transmission myself. All I can actually account it toward is watching him drive manual and learning the steps through watching.
I remember when my dad bought my first stick car. (Honda Civic)
I remember we got home late, but I begged for him to teach me that night, and he did.
I remember me feeling bad, and letting him go to sleep, while I practiced driving around my neighborhood till it got reaal late.
I remember forcing my dad out early next morning to teach me on a few things I had problems with.
thanks dad.

We own a piece of history. Our kids will never know the feeling of such, unless we pass it down. I was surprise to read of the % of sales in 2007...7.7% only!, this article. We are a special breed of people!
This "art" weather it was self taught, or taught by your father, mother, friend, we need to pass on to the younger generation. I say there will always be a market for us purist because the feeling of reving your engine to the point of redline, in sync with your best musical track, hitting second or hitting third to the rhytm.... its priceless.
damn this ganja is good.....makes you put things in perspective....

You didn't stall and awaken him from his sleep during the drive around the neighborhood? I actually taught my brother a few weeks ago the basics of driving manual transmission. The only thing I didn't teach him is driving in reverse. I don't want him to mess up my S2K's clutch.
man this sucks, my dad is a master tech for honda and yet he still wont teach me how to drive stick. ive already driven my friends si and my other friends mr2 yet my dad assumes that i will burn up the clutch or break the transmission ive been trying to convince him to teach me to drive manual for 2 years already and still no luck
